In February I started a new job at Advanced Pediatric Care! I absolutely love it! I take care of disabled children. They have brought such joy to my life. The only downside...I want children of my own even more now! :) And another great thing about it is, I get to wear any scrubs I want! I do not have to wear only teal anymore! :)
In other news I did not get into the RN program... This has really not affected me as much as I thought it would...Cody and I are ready to start a new chapter in our lives...in a new city! If only we can get jobs out there...We are working on it! :) So I am excited to see what will happen!

NCLEX-PN
....is the Devil! lol So I took my test at 8am this morning in Dallas. I only had to answer the minimum 86 questions...which worries me. It was pretty difficult. Lots of diseases, drugs, and Select all that apply's that I didn't know! I will be able to get my "unofficial" score on Thursday...So we will see!

It is Finished!!!
I passed my HESI!!!! 869! Heck yes!!!!!! Therefore....my LVN school career is OVER! All I have to do is pass my NCLEX! And I've heard that it's a lot easier than the HESI. Especially since I had to take it twice! So now I get to buy new Teal scrubs, take the NCLEX in Dallas, and start my new job at ST. Elizabeth!!! Yay!!! :)

Final Check-off!
So I had my Final check-off today! I actually had Mrs. Guedry. I was really worried she would fail me. I had to show I could don sterile gloves and then I had to show wound care. I pretty much froze up, but in the end I answered all of her questions! So I passed! Yay! We only have 7 days left! I have my Clinical Evaluation tomorrow, my Maternity/L&D Final on Monday and then the HESI Wednesday! Graduation Friday!!! Heck yes!!! :)

Lecture...
Well today was my last day of lecture...Mr. Douglas taught in the morning and Mrs. Guedry in the afternoon. She was horrible once again. Yelling and talking down to us. When we are the ones telling her shes wrong and she said the book is wrong...Don't think so! But at least it was the last one! Now if I can (and will) just pass this HESI! Study Study Study! Friday is my last clinical day! Yay! And then nothing but tests! Wish me luck!

16 days!
We only have 16 days of school left! Oh my goodness I can't believe it! Only 6 days of clinicals left! WooHoo! We take the HESI on Wednesday. (Day after tomorrow) I am scared to death. I'm praying I will do well....I just wish I had more time to study! I've been doing well on my other tests now. I might actually get B's this semester! I've spent 2 more days in nursery and absoultely love it! I do believe I want to be a nursery nurse!!! We will see if one day i can achieve this goal! :)
I got the job on Orthopedics at St. Elizabeth! I'm very excited and hope everything goes well towards it...Especially the passing of the HESI part!
SO say a prayer for me Wednesday morning about 8:30 AM. I must pass this test!

Wow...July already!
A month down and a month to go! So far I have done clinicals in the Nursery, Post Partum, Day Surgery, and L&D! I loved the nursery! I was in there when a lot of the "Ike" babies were born! There were 15 babies in there at once! It got pretty loud at times lol. I got to see 2 babies right after they were born and help clean them up and take their vitals. I got to watch the first meds given and everything! It was very cool. Post Partum was pretty boring. In Day Surgery I got to do my first IV! I did pretty good! Got it on the first try! I still need a lot of practice though! Then on to L&D! I got to see a C-section! It was amazing! That little baby coming out of the small incicion! It was crazy. What made the day more interesting was it was a teen pregnancy...the mom and "dad" were white but she ended up having a black baby....The "daddy" wasn't to happy! So that was interesting to watch the mother and family members try to figure out what was going on. The baby even had a Mongolian spot! But she was a very cute baby though!
I have had my first 2 tests...Med/Surg was an 85 and L&D I got a 78. The HESI is on Jully 22nd. I've already started studying....It's going to be stressful!
We have27 class days left including clinicals! I can't believe it will be here this soon! It's crazy! And I already have a job offer from ST. E on the Ortho floor! I'm excited! :)

Level 3
I have been in Level 3 for a week and a day now. I started it out very poorly by having 101 fever last Monday on the first day of class so I missed Mr. Douglas' IV lecture. But that's ok because he made us all DVD that were very helpful! I passed my IV check off on Friday! WooHoo! I did not however pass my math test. I made an 85 and had to have a 90. SO I have to take the test again on Thursday so I can go to clinicals. I have already learned where baby's come from also. haha :) So I hope I pass it this time. Today we practiced our Central line dressing change. That check-off hopefully will go well also. This friday we have our full dress orientation for clinicals and clinicals start next week! It's going by fast! We have our first test next Tuesday for our Mat/Neo class. I have already signed up to take board and paid $139 and have another $200 due at the end of this month along with the payment for graduation due by the end of this month. Yeah we don't have to buy new books but we have to pay for everything else! I have also found out that there is like 1 person walking at graduation. I'm trying to decide if I want to walk or not. I worked hard for this but I also know I will be graduating with my RN as well....So I don't know yet. Oh and on Friday, my friend Allison (a nurse at St. E) allowed me to practice putting an IV in! It was so exciting and i did really well! I didn't blow the vein or anything! It was awesome! So I have already put in my first IV now! Yay! :)

Level 3 is almost here!
So I had my very fun vacation to Illinois with Crissy last week! It was fun and relaxing. This week I have worked a couple of days and had a few days off. Monday it's back to school and dropping more money! It's ridiculous how expensive becoming a nurse is! Not just the school but all the dang tests! And now I have to pay the Board of Nursing to let me in? Like paying a school tuition is not enough! My goodness. So Monday it's back to the grind and study study study for the NCLEX! It's almost 2 1/2 months away! Yay! :)

Level 2 is over!
Well I finished the semester with an A and 2 C's. I'm not pleased with my C's but at least I made it through the level. =) I start Level 3 on June 1st and will graduate on August 14th! Only 2 1/2 months till I'm a Nurse!!!! Yay!!! =)
I'm heading to Illinois with Crissy for a week on Friday! Yay! It will be a nice vacation! I'm looking forward to no Nurse thinking for a couple of weeks!=)
